Uh oh, PDJT did not achieve world peace and find a cure for cancer during his two day summit with N Korean leader Kim Jung Un.  The Dopes and their azz buddies in the MSM now have to countermarch on their storyline that PDJT would give away the farm to get a deal with Kim in order to bury lying azzbag Mike I’ll be Bubba’s bitch in 2 months Cohen’s Dope sponsored three day Caligula, D.C. liefest. 

So now that PDJT has cut the talks short and walked away because no deal could be reached on N Korea’s total denuclearization, the Dopes and their azz kissing wimps in the MSM have to change their story to - PDJT is a failure for not reaching a deal. 

So if PDJT gets a deal, it’s a bad deal reached only because he’s trying to bury Cohen’s testimony.  If PDJT walks away from a bad deal a la Reagan in Reykjavik, he’s a failure for not giving into the Commie POS.

PDJT walking on this non-deal is exactly why clueless azzwipe Barry The Empty Suit could not be trusted to negotiate with N Korea.  TES and his scumbag SecState - the last surviving Cambodian War hero John Francoise Kerry - would have lifted sanctions, dropped billions in cash on N Korean runway somewhere and declared, “peace in our time” while on their way to sharing a Nobel Prize awarded by a bunch of like-minded half-wits.

Anyone who has successfully negotiated a used car deal knows that the best deal you ever made might be the one you walked away from.

I didn’t watch much of it. Seriously, what’s the point.  Liars asking a liar questions about lying all while expecting the liar brought in to tell lies – lie.  The liar even admitted that he lied, but then insisted that he’s not a liar.  YGBSM. 

Every time I saw Dope Chair Cummings he sounded like Hank Kimball trying to explain Newton’s laws of motion to Ebb and Lisa while playing a game of checkers with Arnold the pig over at Drucker’s General Store.  

I did see where Cohen admitted to paying off women who claimed to have had sexual liaisons with PDJT.  Okay. Let’s see the pay offs congress has made to cover the sexual assaults and abuses of members of congress.  The big difference here is that PDJT used his own money for the pay offs to squelch embarrassing news of affairs.  Congress used our money and won’t even tell us who they are covering for.

Re: Ed Smith’s letter, “Students rally Saturday to promote gun bills” of Feb 28, 2019.

I think we could all get on board with “common sense” gun bills that actually target criminals rather than infringing on the constitutionally protected rights of law abiding gun owners.

News flash for student activists, many of whom - given the state of public education - probably cannot find North America on a map of the world, pass a basic civics test or place The War of 1812, WW I and WW II in the proper chronological order: Criminals will not obey your dopey laws.

Here’s a test for the gun-grabbing student activists: Advocate for a law demanding a ten year minimum sentence for anyone using a gun in the commission of a crime.

Leftists won’t do it.  Why?  Simple.  It targets one their most reliable constituencies - criminals.  

We know leftist are liars.  They used say that they wanted abortion to be “safe, legal and rare.”  Now they openly advocate for murdering babies born alive struggling for life outside the mother’s womb.

The same is true with leftists’ hokum on “common sense” gun control.  They know criminals will always get guns, so they don’t target criminals.  The actual goal is to get guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens.  It’s no more complicated than that.

Students rally Saturday to promote gun bills

Our Republican-majority legislature should shift its focus from increasing the availability of guns in public places to sensible gun regulation such as the three bills in committee that would require background checks on all gun sales in Indiana.

Universal background checks were a major issue of the Student March For Our Lives last year as 6,000 students and those supporting them were forced into the Statehouse atrium because of the miserable snow conditions. The students were there following the Parkland school shooting to say never again. Committee hearings were not granted on the background-check bills.

The chairs of the Senate Judiciary and House Public Policy committees have turned their backs on Indiana's students. To protest, the students have organized a March For Our Lives 2019 event on at noon Saturday on the west side of the Statehouse. Be there to support our students.

Korean summit: No success, no matter how great or small, will be enough for the Dopes and the MSM

PDJT is in Vietnam negotiating the denuking of the Korean peninsula.  If that is not achieved in the first 5 minutes with the additional news PDJT had discovered a cure for cancer, Dopes and their MSM acolytes will declare the summit a colossal failure. 

There are couple of themes percolating in MSM reports of the summit.  One is that, while the summit convenes, N Korea continues its march toward its ability to deliver intercontinental nukes - that no progress has been made toward N Korea’s denuclearization. 

That is undeniably true.  What is also undeniably true is that those things would be going on whether or not the summit took place.  So, is it better to be sitting with Kim talking about denuclearization or still sitting on the hair trigger of a massive regional war as we were a year ago? That’s not rhetorical Dopes.  Answer the question.

“But Lex, you’ve already admitted that if Barry The Empty Suit had ever engaged in such diplomacy you’d have labeled him a treasonous bastard.”  Using TES’s negotiating skills a la Iran, yes it’s true, I would have, but only because TES would be pursing the negotiations as the anti-American treasonous bastard that he is. He’d be paying the N Koreans off, apologizing for America’s power and strength and doing everything in his power to negate that power and strength.  He’s a creepy little man who has no business speaking for America on any issue. 

PDJT is an America first zealot who will move the ball on N Korea only if it favors America.  That’s the difference. Okay that said, I have no idea what is going to come out of this thing.  My hope is that PDJT is an America first zealot who will move the ball only if it favors America.  Did I say that? 

The second warmed over bit of BS being served up by the F-Trump Dopes and their MSM army of peddlers of fake news is that PDJT cannot meet with Kim because of Kim's deplorable record of human rights abuses.  This is total BS on so many levels – where to begin? 

So lil’ Barry The Empty Suit, a know-nothing sh*t stick, can dump billions of dollars – IN CASH – on a tarmac in Tehran for the mullahs to continue their terror war on the west while killing homosexuals, oppressing women and imprisoning anyone who deviates one mil from the approved state line on politics or religion with not so much as word from the Dopes and the MSM, but PDJT leveling the N Korean economy with sanctions to bring about a change in nuke testing is an idiot for talking to Kim.  Yeah, that's a run-on sentence - fix it yourself. 

Then there’s this.  The Dopes and MSM azzwipes are about “human rights” when PDJT travels to Vietnam to talk to Kim.  Here’s what every single Republican should be saying when this comes up.  “Human right?  Really?  You want to go there?  YGBSM.  I won’t even bring up the waste of flesh TES’s BS deal with Iran.  Where were you on that?  Human rights?  You twofaced POS.  Where were your precious ‘human rights’ when your party voted last week to kill babies born alive after a failed abortion?  Your party is the party of murdering babied born alive – outside the mother’s womb – right here in the United States of America, and you’re going to lecture us about ‘human rights’?  Go to hell.  Seriously, just go to hell.  Your party is exactly the same – no worse – than the N Koreans on human rights.  ‘Human rights’ pfft, just STFU.”

My guess is that the MSM will try to hide any success in Vietnam under Cohen’s lying testimony.

It's okay to question the 9-11 survivors' fund

According to an old bosun’s mate I met on the USS Denver, the first rule of Naval service is: Never cuss another sailor’s good deal.  With that in mind, I’m all for taking a look at the 9-11 first responders’ survival fund. 

The fund was initially allocated 7 billion dollars. That’s a lot of money.  So I think the first step in authorizing additional funds for the program is thorough audit of the original fund. I am most interested in the tooth to tail administrative cost of the fund.  What is the total cost and percentage of the funds dedicated to bureaucrats overseeing the fund?

I hear that the fund will reduce survivors' benefits by 50-70% in the coming months. What kind of cuts are being applied to the salaries of the bureaucrats administering the fund?  Any?

How many people are taking advantage of the fund?   How many more can be expected to file for benefits?  What’s the end state of the fund?  How long does it go on?  Is it like affirmative action – a government program that will never end?

And here’s the real question that no one asks but needs to be answered: What makes 9-11 first responders any different from a beat cop who is killed in the line of duty issuing a traffic citation in Bozeman, MT on Jun 3^rd, 2018 or cops who are killed entering a workplace shooting?  What’s the difference between the 9-11 first responders and the kid from Iowa who put his life on hold on 9-12 to join the Marine Corps and was killed in action in Fallujah?

Seems to me that there’s a bit of an Animal Farm hierarchy of first responders – some are more equal than others.

I entered the Marine Corps with full understanding of the responsibilities and risks of great bodily harm associated with that service.  I suspect that first responders do the same.  That’s not a “so sad, too bad” dismissal of their plea for assistance.  Americans are the most giving people in the world. We can handle this.  But we shouldn’t be in the business of issuing blank checks. 

I don’t know a damn thing about the 9-11 first responders' fund.  It’s a government program.  As such, I suspect the program is rife with waste, fraud and abuse. That’s not a condemnation of the purpose of the fund.  It’s the altruistic near universal support for the program that probably allows much of the waste, fraud and abuse to take place.  After all, you heartless bastard, you cannot question support for survivor’s benefits for 9-11 first responders.

Maybe what needs to be done is a national fund administered by reliable charities funded by 100% tax deductible contributions that supports all first responders.

Anyway, it should not be a political death blow to question what is going on with this fund.

What is an existential threat?
The new Demo-Dope talking point is that global cooling warming climate change climate disruption poses an “existential threat” to the planet. Smart guy Tucker Carlson demanded, rhetorically, “Define 'existential.'  I bet you can’t.”

By context I assumed the meaning to be an immediate and deadly threat.  So looked the word up.  Here’s the definition: (adj) derived from experience or the experience of existence; (adj) of or as conceived by existentialism

So I looked up existentialism.  Here’s the definition: (noun) (philosophy) a 20th-century philosophical movement chiefly in Europe; assumes that people are entirely free and thus responsible for what they make of themselves

So I was right.  Not about the definition of “existential,” Carlson was right about that.  People using the word either didn’t have an understanding of the meaning or chose to ignore it.  I was right about the context.  What the warm-mongers meant was immediate and deadly threat rather than an existential threat - which means precisely nothing. 

So to put this in a gilded frame, the smartest people on the planet offer up a fancy wrong word to hector the hoi polloi about the dangers of global cooling warming climate change climate disruption.  I think the far more immediate and deadly (that would be “existential” for the Dopes and cable teleprompter readers in smart guy glasses) risk to the planet is from stupid people who shroud themselves in arrogance.

It seems to me that the guy is building a rather convincing criminal case against himself.  How can this boob go on TV every day and describe how he engaged in a deep state coup of the duly elected president of the United States and not get rung up by the DOJ?  Simple, he’s a Demo-Dope operative.  Dopes don’t get rung up by the DOJ – period.

Now the MSM often notes that Comey, McCabe, Meuller etc. are all "Republicans."  I suppose that’s true in the same sense that Anna Navarro, Bill Weld, Colin Powell et al are two-faced, backstabbing, Caligula, D.C. ruling class azzwipe “Republicans.” 

I mean isn’t that why PDJT won the primary?  We all knew that the Rat establishment Republicans could not be trusted. So 18 swamp dwelling ReR excrement heads were dispatched by Trump rather easily during the primary.  Did anyone seriously suppose that these power hungry thieving scumbag ReRs were just going to go away?    

What’s really interesting to me in all of this is that Jimmy the shape shifter Comey and now this disgraced lying boob McCabe are willing to throw themselves and their crew under the bus to sell a few books.  They do it because they want the money and fame, but they have no fear – ZERO – that the weight of a DOJ prosecution is going to come down on their empty heads.  Dopes don’t get rung up by the DOJ – period.  Look at PDJT associates being rung up on process crimes while Shillda the Hutt’s mob of crooks ran rampant over the truth, honest testimony while openly and wantonly destroying evidence.  The deep state crooks in the FBI immunized the Hutt’s crooks and actually facilitated their crimes.

I have no idea what is going happen with this.  I know the North Koreans are unlikely to give up nukes in that it’s the ONLY thing that makes them relevant. 

That said, what can talking to this turd biscuit hurt?  “Ahh, Lex, if Barry The Empty Suit were talking to Kim, you’d be going nuts calling him a traitor and you know it.”  Okay, you’re right. 

So let me put this into the simplest terms possible. I trust PDJT not make some BS deal a la Iran more than The Empty Suit who would sell the country out in a second to boost his own inflated opinion of himself.

So I’ll be holding my breath over the next couple days hoping we don’t get some Putin like sound bites out the effort to de-nuke the Korean Peninsula or at least stabilize the situation.

The coward who coaches the team, also an ill-educated boob apparently, – Kermit Davis – who vowed his team would respect the anthem at the beginning of the season, placed his head firmly up his rectum and blathered some banalities in support of his boob know-nothing players’ 1^st amendment rights don’t you know blah, blah, blah.

Here’s the thing.  Is our National Anthem, not adopted as such until 1931, in any way associated with the Confederacy? No. I do not believe that it is.  If I had to pick a song that might be the Confederacy’s anthem, it’d be “Dixie.” 

The Star Spangled Banner has always been a patriotic song supporting the union that abolished slavery, passed the 14^th and 15 amendments, passed reconstruction, the Civil Rights Act etc. etc. etc. 

So WTF Mississippi? Why protest the anthem?  I can guess.  You’re just too stupid to put 2+2 together and get 4. So if the band strikes up Dixie, you clueless boobs, take a knee.  When the band plays the Star Spangled Banner, stand up and appreciate what it stands for.

It seems to me that there is a dearth of actual racists in America.  If that isn't the case, why are the race baiters forced to engage in so  many hoaxes?

The Smollett case has caused a couple of other Dope pols some angst.  Willie Brown’s $2 whore, Kamal Harris and idiot Farticus Booker now want to wait for all of the facts to out before commenting on Jussie’s mess. 

Well, there are whole lot more facts available today than there were when Harris and Booker called Jussie’s hoax a modern day lynching. So, in their own vernacular, wat up with that?

Now, maybe in response to the Smollett hoax, Dopes and MSM are saying that a MAGA hat is the new Klan hood.  Well as the founders of that odious organization, the Does should know. But they don’t.  It’s all political BS.  Dopes are still the racist azzbags that they have always been. They just want to shift the blame.

So you can have a confirmed racist Dope Gov. and a racist Dope AG in VA covered in blackface and they go happily on their way.  None of the NFL, NBA or Hollywood swells – the same ones who soiled themselves over a bathroom ban to men out of the ladies room - none are calling for a boycott of the racist state of VA until the racist Gov and AG are removed.  Seems just a bit two-faced to me.  But we all know that Dopes have a minimum of two faces.

PDJT wins any way the challenge to his emergency declaration goes

The Demo-Dopes, MSM, 98% of Hollywood swells and 100% of Rat establishment Republican surrender monkeys are in high dudgeon over PDJT’s declaration of a national emergency over the untenable situation on our southern border.  Lex shares Victor Davis Hanson’s view that it’s all virtue signaling faux outrage.  Had PDJT signed the bogus BS border bill and just issued a statement - immediately after destroying the pen used to sign the abomination - along the lines, “Okay that’s that.  That was your congress’s pathetic attempt to protect the American people. It’s total BS. Now I have a pen and a phone, and I’m going to use them to get the wall built using funds available to me” everything would have been fine.

But okay that ship has sailed, or more accurately was torpedoed at the pier.  So what do the Dopes do?  While PDJT uses the emergency power to ensure the safety and security of the American people, Dopes are vowing to use emergency power to punish the American people.  Dopes warn that they will use the power to snatch guns – a constitutionally protected right – or impose onerous level of taxation on Americans to pay for the “climate change” hoax or to nationalize the American healthcare system, the production and sale of energy and anything else that they can use to place the American people firmly under the thumb of the Caligula, D.C. ruling class azzwipes.

So there’s the difference.  PDJT wants to protect America. The Dopes are vowing to the emergency power to punish us.  That’s all you really need to know about the 2020 election.

Now one things we can all be sure of is that ReR surrender monkeys will continue to do their best to sink PDJT’s presidency. Like Wiley E. Coyote they will fail spectacularly. PDJT is in a win, win, win cannot lose situation.  If congress shots the emergency declaration down – PDJT will have done everything in his power to get the job done and was overruled by Caligula, D.C. azzclowns and has the issue (among others) to bludgeon the Dopes in 2020.  If the declaration survives congress and is shot down by the Supreme Court – it is the exact same outcome. If the declaration survives both, the wall gets built and PDJT get to run on another promise kept.  Win, win, win.

Here’s some unsolicited advice.  PDJT needs to appoint someone like Chris Christie to be the face of the effort to build the wall.  Christie should be seen at the border with Border Patrol and local sheriffs to explain why the wall is being constructed in certain locations.  A weekly report should be issued on amount of wall built.  The amount of wall under construction.  The amount of land secured and prepped for construction.  The amount of land stuck in litigation and who the azzwipes are opposing the construction. 

PDJT needs to find a new tough face to lead this issue.

Like Colin Powell, Bill Weld endorsed Barry The Empty Suit and Shrillda the Hutt  for president supposedly their "own party's candidate."  Now Weld wants to run a primary race against PDJT.  Hmm.  This is a guy who obviously has disdain for the party’s nomination process, but is nonetheless now seeking the nomination.  I don’t know how these people get up in the morning and get through the day without their heads exploding from all of the cognitive dissonances that has to be crowding their small craniums.

Smollett is in serious trouble. I don’t have a clue what really happened that night in Chicago, but I know Smollett has big problems. Here’s how I know:  All of the Hollywood swells and the Dope azzbags who rushed to judgment, a la the Covington kids, demanded “Justice for Jussie!!!”  Now that Jussie faces three years in the big house for fabricating a fake “hate crime*,” the “justice for Jussie” crowd is suddenly quiet as the Meatchicken crowd after The OSU’s Even Turner sunk a 45 foot game winner with no time on the clock.  The Meatchickeners just stood there for minutes with mouths agape in disbelief like stunned mullets.  If “Justice for Jussie” was good enough 4 weeks ago, it’s good enough now.  Lock him up.

Let’s be honest.  This whole border bill debacle can be laid at the feet of Rat establishment Republican surrender monkeys starting with that gutless POS Paulie walunts Ryan and running right up to Demo-Dope turncoat turned Rat establishment Republican turned turncoat - the double deal bastard Richard the dick Shelby.

ReRs could have gotten this thing done two years ago if they wanted to. They don’t.  They are all sleazy Caligula, D.C. ruling class thieving swamp creatures.  The latest bill – if we can believe what is being reported – is a total cave by the ReR surrender monkeys.  They didn’t even try. They depantsed themselves, bent over and let Chuck and Nancy to lay the wood to them. When Cuck and Nancy were done beating them like rented mules, the ReR surrender monkeys thanked Chuck and Nancy and ask them for another beating.

That said, I don’t think PDJT should declare a national emergency on the border.  The real national emergency is the total capitulation by one of the country’s major political parties and its merger into the other.

Here are some options PDJT could use: 1) his power as Commander in Chief to secure the border with the military. 2) Ask for a CR and send the POS bill back to congress for a rewrite. 3) Move money from other pots sans the emergency declaration.  Using one or all of these puts PDJT on firm ground as trying to make a good-faith effort to negotiate a reasonable solution to the problem while keeping it front and center and exposing open borders Dopes and ReRs.

He’s winning the battle of public support for a wall.  If he just keeps bumping it he’ll win – bigly.

But what do I know?  I’m not a billionaire.  I didn’t defy 10,000 to 1 odds to become POTUS.  Whatever PDJT does, I will continue to ride the Trump tiger because I know that the Caligula, D.C. azzweasels are not so much going after PDJT as they are trying to come after me.  They only thing standing between me and the Caligula, D.C. ruling class SFBs is PDJT.

Fallout – the inevitable court battle - from any declaration of a national emergency will be swift and last through the 2020 election.  Maybe that’s the play.  It worked in 2016.  I dunno. 

Now Grand Nan from San Fran Peloser is saying the next Dope president may declare a national emergency with regard to gun control.  That’s a constitutionally protected right, but okay.  Let’s see how that one plays out. I for one will be saying, “Come and take it.” Maybe that’s Peloser’s play – a Civil War.  I am beginning to think that such an outcome is becoming inevitable.

In Britain a woman was arrested for referring to a biological man who “identifies” as a woman as “him.”  Yes ARRESTED, in Britain, for using the correct pronoun to refer to a man who is scientifically provable to be a man but says he’s a woman.  YGBSM!  ARRESTED!!  IN BRITAIN!!  FOR USING AN INCORRECT PRONOUN!!

There once was a political party that believed in classic liberalism – free men and free markets – once thought abortion should be “safe, legal and rare,” were reliably anti-socialist/communist and touted itself as the party of the working class.  It was called the Democrat Party.

It’s gone now and has been replaced by the Dimocrat Party that believes in none of those things.  Today’s Dims are happy to trample your 1^st, 2^nd, 4^th Amendment rights and any other unalienable rights that stand in their way to power. 

They are happy to crush your individual freedoms by advocating for government control of basic services such as healthcare and energy and want to levy confiscatory taxes on your livelihood.

They now openly embrace killing babies born alive and are, as is their history, openly racist, anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic.

Today’s Dims are far more comfortable in the company of Silicon Valley millionaires than they are with anyone with a bit of grit under their fingernails.

In 2020 we are likely to be faced with a choice between an anti-American left-wing bomb throwing socialist and pro-American capitalist.

In two short years the ISIS caliphate is gone and America is back.  Taxes and unemployment are down and wages and energy production is up.  Six more years of pro-growth put America first policies would be a blessing.    

Republican Party exists no more

There once was a political party that believed in free trade, deficit hawkishness, NATO, keeping Russia in check and many other tenets. In fact, it once touted itself as the “Moral Majority.” It was called the Republican Party.

It's gone now and has been replaced by the Retrumplican Party that believes in none of those things.

Hopefully, in 2020 we won't be faced with another Morton's Fork (look it up) as we were in the 2016 presidential election.

Ask for a CR and send the border bill back for rewrite

I think that PDJT should find something in the 1,159 pages of mashed up gobooldygook in the border bill to send it back to congress for rewrite.  My guess is that this POS bill laden with a ton pork projects and probably a couple of hundred things that have nothing whatsoever to do with border security.

PDJT should find the most absurd examples, point them out publicly, ask for 10 day CR to get the bill cleaned up and send it back to congress. He could go further and ask for a bill of no more than 250 pages that deals exclusively with the crisis at hand and demand that the other garbage be taken up during the normal appropriation process. 

This could put PDJT in the driver’s seat looking like the reasonable adult watching out for American taxpayer interests.  That would force Dopes and Rat establishment Republicans like Richard the dick Shelby in the unenviable position of defending the pork and idiocy contained in the current BS bill.     

Demand a CR until the bill is cleaned up.

While whacked out Dopes see high speed rail as the future of American mass transportation, the CA high speed rail project has run into reality – it can’t be done.

That’s right Mr. & Mrs. America, while Dope are tripping all over themselves in rush to support half-wit AOC’s unworkable Green New Deal, CA Gov. Gavin Newsome has thrown in the towel on green mass transportation.  Ladies and gentlemen - that’s progress.  The green weenies haven’t shown up – yet – demanding Newsome be burned at the stake for green weenie heresy.    

The fed government under Barry The Empty Suit gave over 3 billion dollars in federal funds to BS project.  PDJT wants the federal money back.  CA’s grand grifter Newsome says he doesn’t want to give the money back ”to PDJT.”  Hey Gavin, it’s not PDJT’s money.  It belongs to the American people, you thieving D-bag.

You gotta love the Dopes.  Most people look at CA as a once great state that has been run into the ground by decades of failed Dope policies that have led to a state in crisis littered alternately with feces and homeless.  This issue is going to break about 80-20 in PDJT’s favor.  He should keep it front and center for as long as possible.

In 1962 Pete Bowers won an Experimental Aircraft Association contest to design a home built aircraft that could be constructed and stored in a single car home garage and using only common tools. Since 1962 Bowers’ design, dubbed the “Fly Baby,” has been completed by over 500 experimental aircraft builders.

The Fly Baby has an excellent safety record.  As of 2012 there have been only 14 accidents involving structural issues. In those cases it seems the builder, thinking he better understood the Fly Baby’s design than Pete Bowers, messed with the plans.

So it is with Nate Grabner and others who want to tinker with the plans – the US Constitution - that have been the foundation for the most successful country in the history of the world.  Given the state of American public education, I wouldn’t trust that anyone under the age of 60 has even an inkling of how the Electoral College works or why it’s necessary.

It’s not a red state versus blue state question.  If Grabner studied a map of counties across the country that tend to vote red and those that tend vote blue the answer would jump out him. 

If you share the baby killing socialist values of NY, City you probably want to abolish the Electoral College.  If you believe in classic liberalism – free men and free markets – you probably understand the genius of the founders.

It’s worth noting that the founders were wary of the tyranny of the majority.  That is why America was founded as a republic.  The Electoral College is a key component of that founding.

Like the Fly Baby builders who tinkered with Pete Bowers’ design thinking that they had a better understanding of the aircraft than the designer, Americans should be very suspicious of know-nothings fiddling around with the constitution lest the wings of this proven design come flying off in mid-flight.

Plan puts more weight behind Hoosiers' votes

It's no secret that Indiana is a reliably red state. Under the current system, that almost guarantees that each of our 11 electoral votes will go to the Republican in a presidential race in the same way that New York and California are almost guaranteed to give all of their votes to the Democrat. This leaves a system where candidates only campaign in swing states and the voters in minority parties (like Republicans in Illinois or Democrats here in Indiana) are essentially voting for nothing in presidential elections.

It also means that, in certain situations, a minority of voters in certain states can decide the presidency despite the majority of Americans voting otherwise. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won 3 million more votes yet lost the presidency. In 2004, George W. Bush won the popular vote by a similar margin, yet only 54,000 votes in Ohio would have handed the presidency to John Kerry.

So much for one person, one vote.

There is a bill in the Senate that proposes Indiana join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Once 270 electoral votes' worth of states sign on (enough to decide an election), those states automatically pledge their electoral votes to the winner of the national vote rather than the winner of each of their individual states. The compact has already been passed by 11 states representing 172 electoral votes, with Indiana being one of 11 others considering it. Let's make sure our votes as Hoosiers count, not just the votes of our swing-state neighbors.

PDJT should use power as Commander in Chief to secure

PDJT should accept the 1.375 billion for wall construction, if, if, if the bill POS turncoat bastard Richard the dick Shelby laid at his feet passes both houses and contains no other BS poison pills.

There's an old adage in the USMC, when in command - command.  PDJT needs to command on this issue.  He should immediately militarize the southern border. Send as many troops as required to string razor wire at the other locations where the Border Patrol says that fencing is required.  Inform congress the troop are staying until a proper barrier is constructed. 

I think that approach will work and avoid legal challenge.  How can Dopes sue the Commander in Chief for commanding and deploying HIS forces? 

I’ve read several times on the Interweb that Dopes are railing against the use of razor wire on the border because, get this, it’s ugly and dangerous.  Wow. Who knew Dopes could succinctly summarize anything so accurately. Hell yeah, it’s ugly. Hell yeah, anyone who has been caught in it knows it’s dangerous.  IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE UGLY. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DANGEROUS. 

I don’t know how many nicks I got and good pairs of Cammie trousers and blouses I ruined trying to carefully navigate that troublesome stuff. 

But hey progress!  Well done Dopes!  Finally, there is something Dopes can get their small minds around.   NEWS FLASH from the DNC!  Razor wire is ugly and dangerous.

Here’s another way for PDJT to get the bucks for the wall.  I heard from Mark Theissen on Fox News that come December, there will be an automatic sequester of 55 billion in domestic spending and 71 billion in defense spending if a budget agreement is not reached. PDJT could hold the sequester over the Dopes' head to get th rest of the money for the wall.  55 billion for 4.3 billion. Make them that offer and see if they can refuse.  

Here’s the rub.  As with everything in Caligula, D.C. nothing happens quickly.  The sequester wouldn't kick in until 2020.  Hmm, what happens in 2020? Oh yeah an election. Is this a god issue to run on in 2020?  It is to me, but what do I know?

Here’s the last thing.  When the Dopes gloat that PDJT caved, the obvious response is the Dopes caved 1.375 billion times minus one.  Grad Nan from San Fran Peloser said she’d give one dollar for the wall. Now it’s up to 1,375 billion.  Pocket the money.  Move on. 

Last, last thing, PDJT needs to call out the backstabbing, gutless, weasels (that’s you Richard the dick Shelby) in his own party on this.

      

Today's JG rant

George Will once noted, “When a politician on a subject implicating science, hard science, economic science, social science says ‘the debate is over,’" a la AlGore on climate change, “you may be sure of two things. The debate is raging and he's losing it.” So it is with Bill Bruening’s nonsense on abortion, “Abortion debate in need of fresh talking points,” JG letter of Feb 13, 2019.

As the Democrat Party advocates for the killing of a baby, literally at the very last minute prior to live birth, and the lying, idiot, racist, “doctor” (from the Dr. Mengele school of medicine I suppose) VA governor* advocates for 4^th trimester “abortion” (AKA murder), Bruening wants to change the conversation to baseball.  After all, he reasons, you cannot change people’s minds about infanticide. He’s right.  We know it’s a grotesque abomination.

Now as the mask slips from Democrat baby killer’s face, and as science through ultra sound and prenatal surgeries closes in on making an ironclad case that, “yes, it’s a baby,” Bruening wants to shift the discussion to the finer points of the designated hitter and the saber metrics of taking the first pitch and stealing bases.

Bruening’s letter proves two things.  The debate on abortion is raging and his side is losing it.

*Yeah, Ralph Northam is a lying, idiot and racist.  The way I know this is because I am absolutely certain of two things.  One:  I never wore blackface or a KKK uniform.  Two:  If someone said they had a photo of me doing either my reaction would be to call them a damnable liar not apologize for what I would have known to be a fake photo.

Abortion debate in need of fresh talking points

“This is déjà vu all over again” – or something like that. Yogi Berra never said anything about abortion, but the current flurry of discussion of abortion regarding the governor of Virginia and others reminds me of Yogi. It is the same diatribes from all sides of the issue. Nothing new is said. No new insights make the “correct” answer suddenly appear. Why is that?

I have a few suggestions about the abortion controversy. Let us call a truce or at least commit ourselves to respect those who disagree with the position we accept as nearly trivially true. I have never made a decision either for or against having an abortion, and I never will. Being male means I cannot be faced with that issue for myself.

I know people who have faced that issue. I am not in a position to judge their decision, and I never will be. I spent my entire professional career teaching ethics at IPFW. I doubt that anyone who took my class changed her mind about the abortion issue. It was never my job to convince anyone that I knew the correct answer. I have read Roe vs. Wade too many times to count. I can rehash the arguments offered for/against abortion. I can almost quote Roe at will.

I know of a person who cautioned us against throwing the first stone. Of course, he never played baseball. I leave it to the reader to decide whether he was correct. My suggestion is only that we put the stones down at least for now.

Spring training is just around the corner; Major League Baseball is played only by men. Recall Yogi saying that baseball was 90 percent mental and the other half was physical. Each of us makes decisions based on principle, and we all must live with our decisions. Some think baseball is very boring. I never found it boring.

I am bored by the abortion discussion; I am not saying the issue is trivial. I am saying that until we have some different arguments and until we tone down the rhetoric, I would prefer to watch the Cubs on TV.
