Hey riddle me this Batman. As the argument goes, we need “comprehensive immigration reform” because we need the “workers” because there are jobs Americans won’t do. So how is it that a law – Robertscare - that will further reduce the workforce is a good thing? Dopes are haling the news that one of Robertscare’s myriad unintended consequences will be “encouraging people not to work” giving people what Dopes say is the “choice" not to work. So, do we need “workers” or not? Can some bright Republican make the case that “comprehensive immigration reform” and Robertscare are working against each other? No, I doubt that they can.
UN trashes Catholics
Given our circumstances under King Clown and his administration comprised solely of azz kissing wimps and yes gals, you’d think that you’d have to turn over a lot of rocks to find an organization populated in whole by low life corrupt-o-crats. As it turns out, you wouldn’t have to look any further than the UN.
First off, the UN is an abomination of nations. It is next to useless. It should be disband in favor of a League of Democratic Nations and States. The money being barrowed from
A UN committee on human rights has released a report condemning the Catholic Church for the Church’s stance on abortion, child sex, homosexuality, contraceptives et al. The report starts out by drudging up ten year old accusations about pedophile Priests – which it seems is the ONLY sexual orientation that the UN committee finds objectionable.
The report ignores the steps the Church has taken to correct the very real problem of predator priests. As a volunteer with my parish for youth programs, I had to undergo a background check and attend yearly youth protection classes. The report also ignores the scope of the problem within the Church. There are over 400,000 priests world wide. 400 have had credible accusations leveled against them. That does not mean that they have been found guilty. It means someone has leveled a credible charge. We all probably know that not all accusations are valid. There is a ton of money out there to be had. Anyway that puts the abuse rate within the Church at about 1/10th of 1% of priests.
Here’s a secret the UN and the lapdog media don’t want people to know. Children are a lot more likely to be molested at home – where most molestation takes place – at school or at a Protestant church. Those things just are not as sensational as a Catholic Priest being involved. Involvement of a priest will make national news and front page above the fold coverage from local papers. Other more popular forms of child abuse make page 6 of the metro section. It’s like the NFL’s pink push in Oct for breast cancer. There are a few more common and deadly forms cancer, but because of all the hoopla you’d think breast cancer is #1. It isn’t.
Neither is the root cause of the problem within the Church discussed. The Church requires priests to remain celibate, so the sexual orientation of priests was not questioned. It didn’t matter as long as they remained celibate. Now the Church knows it matters.
The report has the rather absurd and indefensible position of advocating for the protection of children while at the same time criticizing the Church for protecting the most innocent among us. How in the world can you advocate for child safety in one paragraph and endorse crushing a child’s head with medical forceps in the next?
With regard to the Church’s stance on homosexuals, just revisit the whole Phil Robertson brouhaha. The Bible says what the Bible says. The UN cannot change it. No one in the Church is advocating stoning homosexuals. That would be the religion of peace that somehow gets off Scott free in the UN report. So you have one religion condemning an activity based on scripture but loving the sinner and another stoning people. Now, who is it the UN condemns? Like I said, the UN is an abomination of nations and cowardly to boot.
