Game for the ages and the real deal

Every Monday morning quarterback in America is telling their friends and co-workers what an idiot Pete Carroll is for throwing the ball over the middle on the Seahawks last offensive play of yesterday’s game.  The fact that everyone thinks Carroll is an idiot for throwing the ball is all the proof you need that he was on to something there.

When New Orleans tried an on-side kick to start the second half of their Super Bowl win against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, Sean Payton looked like a genius, but only because it worked.  About 96 % of on-side kicks fail because everyone in the stadium knows it’s coming.  No one was looking for an on-side kick to start the half.  New Orleans recovered the ball and Sean Payton was considered for MENSA for calling the play.

The same is true of the Seahawks last night.  Everyone was expecting the run.  So Carroll turned to pass.  Only a great play by Patriots a defensive back has made Pete Carroll a goat this morning.  I’m happy the Pats won.  I’m happy Brady was the MVP.  On ESPN the sanctimonious crew there was lambasting Brady for the under inflated footballs found in the conference championship game.  Then they threw it to their colleague and accomplice to murder Ray Lewis.  There has never been a bit of outrage among the pompous POS on ESPN about a double murder Lewis was involved in, but they get all worked into a lather about the air pressure in some footballs.  Weird huh.

American Sniper
I stood in line to buy a ticket for American Sniper among an angry group of Tea Partiers cussing and throwing things all over the theater and refusing to turn off their cell phones.  Actually there was none of that.  I was impressed how when the movie ended people just sat there for a minute or two.  There wasn’t the usual rush out when the credits came on.

I don’t know why Mike Moore, Howie Dean, Seth Rogin and Jess Ventura bother to mock the movie.  It’s actually kind of anti-war in its portrayal of Kyle and the fighting in Iraq.  But then it’s totally like a left Lib to attack a guy who cannot or will not defend himself.  None of these cowards would be saying a word were Kyle not already dead.
It'd be like me calling Mike Moore's dad a homosexual drug addict.  I don't know the guy from Adam and believe that except for his off-spring he was probably a good guy.  That's at least what I'd like to think.  Maybe he'd call his son and ask him to back it down a notch.  In Moore's case he's probably just green with envy that all of his movies combined couldn't match the turn out for American Sniper on a rainy Tues in the third week of its release.
RIP Chris Kyle.
