Prop 8, Newt, Super PAC

Back in 2008 over 80 million dollars were spent advertising the pros and cons of a gay marriage amendment to California voters in advance of Proposition 8. In November of that year, over 13 million California votes let their opinions on the matter be known. Even though they were outspent by over 7 million dollars Proposition 8 carried the state by over 52%.

Yesterday TWO federal court judges cancelled the will of over 7 million California voters. Now irrespective of what you might think about Prop 8, it passed. It was overturned by TWO judges drove a stake into the heart of the notion that America is a land “of the people, by the people and for the people.”

And don’t lay any of that civil rights BS on me. This has nothing to do with it. Any civil discrimination can be dealt with. This is nothing more than another chip in the bedrock foundation that has made America the envy of the world for over 200 years.

I don’t even know why we have elections. We should let a three judge panel from the 9th Circus Court of Appeals decide everything for us. They seem to think that that is their role.

Primary
Everyone is saying Romney had a bad night last night. If Romney had a bad night Newt had a disastrous night. The self proclaimed conservative alternative to Romney didn’t even show up as the conservative alternative to Ron Paul. Will this drubbing stop Newt from calling for Santorum’s exit from the race? Of course it won’t. Newt’s not running a campaign anymore. He’s running a vendetta. Newt ought to be out this morning hitting his theme of dismantling the 9th Circus. There is just something so wrong about a state defining marriage by law as it has been defined over the last 2,000 years only to have that definition declared unconstitutional. There is traction here for Newt if he can just stop whining about Romney for half an hour.

The P-BO to accept super PAC money

Surprise, surprise, surprise. After blasting the Supreme Court decision that allowed the formation of Super PACs during one his more un-presidential moments – I know, how do you choose – the P-BO threw principle to the wind and jumped on the Super PAC band wagon. After all it’s more important to be elected than be elected for standing for something.

During the last election cycle, the P-BO swore he’d be taking federal matching funds right up to point that it looked like he’d make more money by not taking them, then he reneged. Can you say that any more? So complaining about Super PAC money right up to the point that you take it is par for the hypocrite Demo-Dope sail eared dope’s standard.
