Be optimistic in 2007

It’s 2007and there are a couple of things to be optimistic about.

Saddam is dead. I’m not crazy about the government killing people, but I know of no other alternative for people like Saddam. What are people to do? Left alive in exile in some place like G’itmo the Iraqi people would always suspect a return of the dictator. And given the new Democrat majority, they’d have good reason to worry. Democrats have already said that Iraq was better off with Saddam. No doubt one of the mental giants that populate the party would advocate for the release of Saddam, reparations to him and Iraq’s Ba’athist party and the closing of G’itmo. So Saddam had to go, neck stretched slightly, to his grave. Good riddance.

Kofi Annan is out as UN Secretary General. Kofi waxes on and on about how fouled up the US is, while his own crook son (and how far can an apple fall from the tree) steals millions right under his nose. Now Kofi is relegated to living high off the hog in some other UN capacity. Go back to Gahanna and steal that country’s entire $1.98 worth of assets, you third world creep.

Last, I’m off to the Nation’s Capitol to show Lex jr. the sights. I’ll return to this page in earnest on 8 Jan. I can only imagine your disappointment. Happy New Year!
