No matter how bad things get, people still want "free" stuff

Given what we know about statist lefties.  Why do people listen to them, defend them and most mysteriously vote for them?  Detroit is perfect example of unchecked leftist statism.  During WWII, Detroit was known as “the engine of democracy.  Look at it now.  One party has run Detroit since 1961, and as a result houses are for sale for $1 and there are no takers.  The city is literally in a shambles.

Detroit is not the only example, just the most recent.  In New Orleans we saw exactly what happens to wards of the statist left when a hurricane meanders around the Gulf of Mexico for 5 days before predictably coming ashore at the Crescent City.  What is forgotten about Katrina though is that the city survived the hurricane.  What it could not survive was the decades of leftist mismanagement and out right theft of the millions upon millions of dollars funneled into the city for the express purpose of shoring up the levies that kept the city relatively dry.

But it’s not just decades of Demo-Dope controlled cities and states that are a perfect illustration of its failed social policy.  That stuff can be rebuilt.  Or least it could be rebuilt before the current “disposable generation” emerged where everything from TVs, cameras and cell phones to computers, jobs and personal relationships are thought of as disposal and cheaper to buy a new one than to take care of or repair the old one.

What the left is also destroying is their voting base.  Sound counterintuitive?  Not really.  The left needs people to be needy.  So they have gone about making the government the chief provider for out of wedlock babies.  This fits right into the lefty “ladies” organizations and the “Julia” types who trash men as way of life.  Ahh, who needs them?  Nobody.  Uncle sugar will provide.

Hollywood is doing their share as well.  When is the last time a single mother was depicted as someone having made poor choices and thereby living in less than optimal circumstance?  It is far more likely the woman is portrayed as a self-sacrificing heroin getting the well adjusted smart and talented kids to school and after school activities like being the soccer star and then cello lessons while working a job and maintaining a middleclass life style.  Then the family gathers for a healthy dinner, before the love interest shows up to disrupt what would be a perfect family scenario.

Talk about fantasy.  The reality is that the family of a single parent is most likely to make less money.  The kids are far more likely to have trouble in school and after school.    But what the heck, if Murphy Brown and Dr. Lisa Cuddy can make it with so little trouble on TV, then so can Esther Sipinkowski…right?  Not really.  Not in the real world.

But this is the fantasy the Dopes sell.  Uncle Sugar will supply.  And all you have to do in return is vote for the party handing out all of the free stuff.

And that is how we get Detroit, New Orleans, CA and so many other Statist Lefty utopias.  You'd think pointing to Detroit would be the end of the Dope party.  You'd be wrong.  New Orleans should have been the end of the Dope party but that all got blamed on George Bush.

The Dopes keep handing out more and more freebies paid for with other people’s money.  As such, the recipients’ votes are essentially bought and paid for with your tax dollars.  Everything is fine until the inevitable collapse occurs.  Then the left and the their slavish lapdog media blame George Bush and complain that all that is really needed is more money.  Which is not used to improve the situation but rather to buy more votes.
