What's the main thing?

While B-HO tries to win working white votes by complaining about the price of arugula in rural KY whole foods markets and the Shrillda Beast tries to scare up votes by promising to “take” petroleum companies’ profits, John McCain continues to appear very presidential by warning Americans of the number one threat to our freedom – Islamo-terror-fascism. But, yawn, how can we possibly be worried about pan Islamo-terror-fascism when arugula is through the roof and gas is $4 a gallon?

Well we’d better wake the hell up or the only thing we’re going to have to be worried about is when our government issued prayer rugs will arrive.

And while Lex has noted how Bush has gotten the major issue of the day – ITF – by and large correct, there have been some troubling developments in the administration. SecDef Gates said the US should adopt more conciliatory policies toward Iran, including unofficial contacts and talks with the regime - this at a time when U.S. troops are dying in Iraq from Iranian-supplied bombs. Gates’ comments came on the heels of a State Dept. memo telling government officials to avoid using the term “Islamic” when referring to the terrorists.

This is a response to the discovery by the Staties that it’s really the Ladder Saints who are causing all of the world’s problems – what with their missions all over the world to hack off infidel’s heads, fly airplanes into tall buildings, self detonate in crowded pizza parlors and otherwise claim the role of perpetual victim by killing people who make fun of Mormon Church founder Joseph Smith. I for one am happy the State Dept. has finally gotten this right. As a measure of solidarity, I’ve deep sixed my Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas CD collection.

To be fair the State Dept. has been populated with a bunch of career left wing surrender monkeys since the end of WWII. Also, Israel let slip that an “unnamed Bush advisor” said that Bush would bomb Iran before leaving office. Watch Olbermann if that happens. "You Mister Bush are THE TERRORIST!" Then his head explodes and the Nelson laugh from the Simpsons is looped over and over.

It’s probably all a big kabuki dance designed to keep Ahmadinejad up at night wondering what the hell Bush is up to. The problem is it keeps me up at night wondering the same thing.

I am reminded of the Reagan and Kaddafi Kabuki dance of the 1980's. Reagan let it be known after flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie that there would be a price to pay. I am sure that the Isreali's told Bush that they did not want to hear our presidential candidates saying they would meet with the Iranian leader about The World Cup soccer matches, the price of tea in China, and to swap last summer's vacation pictures. I beleive the Isreali's told Bush to know that they will pull out the stops and go after Irans nuke capability. It is a question of timing. If Barak gets a lead on McCain in the general as Sept/Oct rolls around...the s*** is on. GWB was telling everyone and they did not get it. Instead they called it an attack on Barak. GWB wanted Iran to hear it, Pelosi/Syria hear it , and McCain and Barak to hear it. I heard it. GWB was saying if you do not knock off the appeasement rhetoric, these Isreali's will move against Iran before I leave office and just before you take office. GWB is saying that Isreal has heard the Rev Wright speak of Isreal and Jews too and would think that Barak may not want to support them. Ten seconds after I heard GWB speak at the Knessett I knew why he said what he did. I have not heard one person say they heard what I heard.
